Turkey sugar cookies

Turkey Sugar Cookies are the perfect playful treat for November. Guaranteed to please kids of all ages, they are easy and fun to make for parties, lunch boxes, and play dates.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 4 tsps vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 1/3 cups flour
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/3 cups sour cream
  • 1 package of candy eyeballs
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter softened
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • red and orange food coloring
  • candy corn

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter, shortening, sugar, 2 tsp vanilla extract, and 2 eggs in a large bowl. Mix in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, sour cream, and salt. The dough will feel quite sticky and soft, so chill the dough directly in the bowl until firm.
  2. Roll the dough onto a well-floured surface, then cut into circles with a cookie cutter. Place the cutouts on a parchment lined pan and bake at 350° for 8–9 minutes.
  3. While the cookies are cooling, prepare the frosting by mixing 1 stick of unsalted butter with 3 cups of powdered sugar, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, and 3 tbsp of milk. Divide the frosting into 3 small bowls. Stir red food coloring into 1 bowl, orange food coloring into the second, and leave the third bowl uncolored.
  4. Spoon the orange frosting into a bag fitted with a #2 tip. Spoon the red and white frosting into bags fitted with a #1 tip.
  5. Use the white frosting to secure about 11 candy corns to the top of each cookie. Use the same frosting to attach 2 candy eyes to each cookie.
  6. Draw small orange triangles on the cookies to create beaks. Use a rapid zig-zag motion with the red frosting to make turkey gobblers!

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 package 16 ounces Golden Oreo Sandwich Cookies
  • 1 bag Bugles
  • 1 bag 12 ounces mini M&M's baking bits candies

Instructions

  1. Separate the golden oreo sandwich cookies and eat or save the side of the cookie with no frosting. I found the best way to separate the oreos is by twisting the top off from the bottom.

  2. On the side with the frosting press a cornucopia-looking bugle onto the cookie.

  3. Press the mini M&M's strategically in and around the bugle. Use extra frosting from cookies that didn't separate well if needed to get the M&M's firmly placed on the cookies.

  4. Alternatively you can also use a tub of frosting if needed and pipe small amounts of frosting onto the M&M to get it very secure

Pilgrim Cookie Hats

Pilgrim Cookie Hats are the cutest Thanksgiving treat! No oven required and they take only minutes to make!

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • white chocolate chips
  • orange food gel
  • Keebler Fudge Stripes cookies
  • Rolo chewy caramels unwrapped
  • yellow M&Ms

Instructions

Directions

  1. 1 In a small microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second intervals until smooth. Stir in the food gel until combined and orange. Using a spatula, transfer melted chocolate to a small Ziploc bag; snip off a small corner.
  2. 2 With the chocolate-covered side of the Keebler cookie facing up, pipe some of the dyed white chocolate in the center. Place a Rolo candy on top, forcing the melted chocolate to squish out from underneath, forming a thick ring. Dot a small amount of the melted chocolate onto an M&M, and then place it up against the Rolo to form a “buckle.”
  3. 3 Allow the “glue” to set for 5 or so minutes and enjoy!

  • Red yellow, orange, and green food coloring

Instructions

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  3. Divide the dough into four separate bowls. Dye each piece of dough a different color with the food dye, until you are satisfied with the colors.

Place on parchment lined baking sheets about an inch apart and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until slightly golden on the edges. Let cool and serve.
